The best two weeks…
Our mission, our ethos - to give our guests the best holidays, the best adventures, the best experiences we possibly can.
Not because it's ambitious, but because it’s what people deserve. Simple as that. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing our guests smiling, laughing, and soaking up every moment - making memories, forging friendships, and enjoying the kind of adventure that stays with them long after it’s over.
That’s what it’s all about.
After months of planning, drawing on years of experience, the days were finally closing in on the start of our Great Scotland Tour 2025.
The final preparations were all but complete. All that remained was to pack our bags and head to the starting hotel - a stunning, grand country residence nestled in the heart of middle England. Creating a tour like this is a bit like the proverbial iceberg. What you see are the smiles, the laughter, the joy of the journey. What you don’t see are the months of behind-the-scenes work that go into bringing a trip of this scale to life.
And the Great Scotland Tour really is as good as it gets. Fourteen days of pure adventure, winding our way through England and deep into the majesty of Scotland - discovering hidden gems, iconic landscapes, and unforgettable moments. There’s truly nothing else quite like it. If you’ve ever had the desire to travel, to meet new people, and to explore remarkable places, this is the trip to add to your calendar.
Trying to sum up this journey in a short blog wouldn’t do it justice. Crafting something like this takes deep knowledge of the land, the roads, the stops, and the subtle little details that turn a good trip into a great one. From start times to toilet breaks, scenic viewpoints to hidden attractions, every day is carefully designed to build anticipation, spark curiosity, and deliver something special.
We welcomed our guests at the start hotel with a champagne reception. The atmosphere was buzzing - full of warmth, excitement, and a real sense of adventure in the air. It was a joy to finally meet the people we’d been chatting with over the past few months, answering questions and gathering the finer details to make sure everything was just right before their arrival. Day two, and the MINIs had arrived, lined up elegantly on the front lawn of this grand 17th-century country residence, ready for adventure. The sun was shining, spirits were high, and it was time to hit the road. Ahead of us lay Scotland – and what a journey it would be.
Over the following days, we guided our guests through some of the most breathtaking and scenic landscapes Scotland has to offer. Each evening brought a stay in one of the country’s most elegant hotels or historic castles. Immersing our guests in Scotland’s rich heritage is at the heart of what we do, and that begins with where we stay. We carefully select accommodation that reflects the culture, character, and charm of the land.
Our first hotel deep into Scotland set the tone beautifully. Built in 1510, Dalmunzie Castle is a turreted Scots Baronial-style mansion set on a 6,500-acre estate. Hidden at the end of a winding driveway, nestled beside a babbling brook, the castle reveals itself only when you’re deep in the Cairngorms - a true hidden gem.
Guests were welcomed by a roaring fire and the warmth of interiors steeped in character. Each room is individually designed, furnished with antiques, and many offer views across the surrounding mountains and estate. The castle boasts wood-panelled lounges, a peaceful library, a cosy snug bar, and a grand dining room serving a fine-dining menu, the perfect setting to unwind after a day of unforgettable driving.
Leaving the Cairngorms behind, our journey took us west into the Highlands and onto the start of the legendary North Coast 500. There’s a secret to the timing of this tour - it’s deliberately planned to avoid the peak holiday season. We’re here to explore, to enjoy the open road and discover the hidden corners of Scotland, not to be stuck behind a procession of campervans. (Although let’s be honest, there’s no guaranteeing that entirely!)
We headed due north, right to the very tip of the mainland. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not John O’Groats that marks the farthest north, it’s Dunnet Head, and that’s exactly where we went.
What makes the Great Scotland Tour so special is the way it weaves together the best of the Highlands, carefully crafted to give our guests a rich and rewarding experience. From one breathtaking location to the next, we shared something much deeper than just a journey. The group bonded beautifully. There was a real sense of joy and togetherness, friendships were made, stories shared, and memories created.
And for us? It felt like we’d hit the jackpot. All those months of planning and preparation were paying off. Even as tour guides, though we’ve done this before, we want to enjoy every moment just as much as our guests do. And we did, thanks entirely to them. It was the perfect blend of camaraderie, adventure, and jaw-dropping landscapes.
We made genuine friendships, the kind that last. And we’re already looking forward to seeing many of them again, as they’ve booked onto our Wales Grand Tour: Land Rover Special in 2026. Another truly spectacular journey we can’t wait to share.
