We set off from rural Leicestershire at a time when the roads are empty, heading west and gradually leaving the familiar urban tracks of England behind as the landscape begins to open up to glorious Wales. I will never get old of that feeling of leaving England behind heading over the border into peace and tranquility. Today was about stepping back in time, and spending a full day immersed in the Welsh countryside with Vintage Land Rover Tours.

It’s beautiful Saturday morning and we are off to the Pistonheads Annual Service at the beautiful Bicester heritage site which is part of the wider Bicester Motion project. From one breathtaking location to the next, we shared something much deeper than just a journey. The group bonded beautifully. There was a real sense of joy and togetherness, friendships were made, stories shared, and memories created.

And for us? It felt like we’d hit the jackpot. All those months of planning and preparation were paying off. Even as tour guides, though we’ve done this before, we want to enjoy every moment just as much as our guests do. And we did, thanks entirely to them. It was the perfect blend of camaraderie, adventure, and jaw-dropping landscapes.

After a smooth flight with Virgin Atlantic, we landed in Charleston, South Carolina, where we were warmly welcomed by our dear friends and long-time clients, The Prices. We stayed in their stunning pre-Civil War cottage, one of the oldest in Summerville.

After wrapping up an incredible three-day Porsche guest driving experience across the Scottish Highlands, some of the team at Ultimate Driving Adventures decided to take on one more challenge – walking up Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, all in support of MIND, the mental health charity.

The first day of spring gave us exactly what we hoped for – blue skies, glorious sunshine, and a group of fantastic MINI lovers ready for a proper adventure. Our Peak District Getaway 2025 was a brilliant way to kick off the new season with engines running and smiles all around.
